Job Description

Are you a qualified (L5 / 6 or equivalent) childcare professional, with good staff management and operational experience, that’s seeking the opportunity to secure a General Manager’s position looking after multiple sites for a further expanding and established local provider...If you’re Ofsted and EYFS competent, possess strong all-round finance skills, with previous experience of managing P&L’s and are soon to be available, then we’d love to hear from you today…Founded 18 years ago, this successful and growing business is a professional provider of high quality out of school childcare, offering Breakfast, After School and Holiday Club provisions across the Berkshire and Surrey areas.As General Manager, your role will form an integral part of the business’ dynamic team and, reporting to the Board of Directors, require a drive and motivation to effectively oversee all Business Units across various locations, focusing on service, growth and profitability. With 60% of your time spent on business management and 40% on childcare related matters, commercial acumen is a key requisite, along strong leadership skills, the ability to take ownership and drive change.Key responsibilities as General Manager will include:

  • Defining policies and procedures to support Governance
  • Ensuring all Business Units have clear corporate goals and maintain quality childcare services.
  • Setting and monitoring budgets and spend
  • Regular reporting (e.g. KPI’s, P&L).
  • Delivering sales opportunity initiatives to increase customer-base and grow TGC P&L.
  • Interviewing and management of career progression and development
  • Overseeing operations in all Business Units to ensure industry regulation and compliance.
  • Ensuring childcare outcomes and curriculum impact meet and exceed Ofsted and EYFS requirements
