Job Description

Are you a Psychology and/or Education graduate seeking a role in SEN schoolsAn individual interested in gaining a deeper perspective into how children think and developReed Education Plymouth are currently recruiting for Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) with a desire and passion to work in an extremely rewarding environment!The suitable applicants will ideally have:

  • An hons degree or equivalent in an Educational based Psychology discipline.
  • The want to succeed, working in a school setting.
  • A high level of interest assisting in regular care work.
  • Experience/Witness to others assisting people with SEND.
  • A valid enhanced DBS
  • Versatility/open-mindfulness - as no two days are the same!
Your role will include:
  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups within classroom settings and the community
  • Learning about the individual childs developmental, cognitive, social, individual differences and performing correct methods to assist.
  • Applying your knowledge gained through your degree.
  • Providing care and enabling access to learning for all pupils
  • Carrying out pupils support programmes
  • Managing the children and the classroom
  • Personal andadvancedcare with some students
