Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer -Nottinghamshire - Permanent - Attractive - ElectronicsA Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer is required to join an Electronics Systems organisation that is growing rapidly in an extremely interesting sector. The company are open to all levels of experience and knowledge duringthis expansion period for both Junior & Senior level engineers.The Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer will join the highly skilled Electronics Development team and report to the relevant Engineering Manager or Chief Engineer. Providing business objectives are met and positive communicationis maintained, the company are open to flexible working on a hybrid working pattern that is office based and WFH. The Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer role will include occasional travel to visit customer sites for demonstrations, installations, handovers & reviews.Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer - Key Responsibilities

  • Senior Engineers will take the technical lead on projects including the direction of more junior staff.
  • Develop & maintain key business relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • Support new business and work with one of the client-focused engineering teams.
  • Scope, plan and be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to agreed timescales.
  • Have a strong interest in expanding and state of the art technology.
  • Sample and classify RF and Electronic signals in real time.
  • Use various techniques and methods with RF antenna systems.
  • Skilled with tools such as Python.
  • Apply various RF and digital signal processing techniques.
  • Deploy, test, and optimise embedded electronic systems and devices.
  • Work with Radio Systems to gather the radio frequency signal using digital signal processing.
  • Being creative and coming up with new ways to enhance our products using latest technologies.
Skills Required for the Radio Frequency/Digital Signal Processing Engineer
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of the industry and trends, particularly regarding development.
  • Keep abreast of usability standards and emerging technologies.
  • Have used digital signal processing signals before feeding them into neural networks.
  • Debugging issues in models at training, testing and deployment stages.
  • Familiarity and experience in using software defined radios and GNU Radio.
  • Understanding of processing and machine learning frameworks, such as Python.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within the team and independently to meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with an academic background in Electronic Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
  • Solid grounding in engineering or technology-based environment.
  • As a Senior Engineer prior responsibility for technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Broad interest in wireless technology and awareness of latest industry developments.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent team working abilities and understanding of digital signal processing.
  • Experience of FPGA development (e.g. VHDL) and understanding of radio communications.
  • Some development skills, including: embedded software (C), C++, Java, and or JSP.
  • Understanding of digital and/or analogue hardware design with some laboratory experience.
