Job Description

The RoleAs a Mine Fitter for British Gypsum you can expect a rewarding and exciting role where you will be joining a business that is focused on continuing being a global leader in their field, who can offer you the career progressionand security associated with an established and respected brand.This role is based at our East Leake site, which is home to our head offices, including our Research and Development and independent UKAS Accredited testing laboratories. Its also where youll find our IT department, Marketing Team, TechnicalSupport Team and Customer Service centres. Plus, one of our plaster and plasterboard manufacturing facilities is on site too.The Mine Fitter will be a crucial part of a technical minded engineering team reporting into the Mine Mechanical Engineer and be responsible for mechanical inspections, machinery performance as well as to provide mechanical maintenance to fixed and mobileplant.British Gypsum is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and Much of Britain has been built with British Gypsum. Gypsum is the vital raw-material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled and made inBritain. In fact, as custodians of British gypsum reserves, weve been mining it for more than 150 years.Heres a short breakdown of the key focus areas in this role

  • Running mechanical task and supervision of any workman in your area to ensure that they are safe
  • Ensure all statutory and maintenance inspections are completed on time & signed
  • Accurately communicate safety issues and concerns, shift performance and status of equipment to relieving shift/personnel
  • Working with diesel heavy mobile plant and material handling systems as well as working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
