Job Description

Consilium Recruit are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist tools and equipment. The company is seeking to expand its Design Team with a new Mechanical Design Engineer. Commutable from:Nottingham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Derby, and Newark-on-Trent Salary: £32000 - £45000 + Benefits.Benefits: Holiday + Pension + Wellness scheme + 37.5 hour working week The Role

  • Use of 3D modelling (Solidworks)
  • Detailed drafting of new products from concept stage through to production.
  • Design detailing and checking of assembly / sub-assembly and detailed drawings, producing calculations where necessary, generation of Design File, BOM’s.
  • Redevelopment of existing products.
  • Producing, modifying, and reviewing engineering drawings.
  • Admiration in methods of manufacture.
  • Drawing management from concept to production.
  • Admiration of different material properties and engineering processes.
  • Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes.
  • Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the design/engineering team.
  • Able to identify new concepts and improvements with Design/engineering team.
The Person
  • Must have a strong Mechanical Background in Machinery.
  • At least 2 years working experience in Solidworks.
  • Strong understanding in Hydraulics.
  • Intimate experience using 3D CAD packages.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex Engineering drawings.
  • Experience in taking ownership of a project.
  • Ability to working to tight production deadlines and cost constraints.
  • HND (minimum) / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
