Cedar are supporting a Local Authority who are looking to hire an Interim Commercial Director on a 6 month contract. This role is operating INSIDE IR35 offering a day rate of £750 up to £850. This role offers hybrid working but will require you to be on-site1 day per week for key meetings (preferably on a Tuesday or Thursday). Please note this role is urgent so needs someone who can start ideally in the next 2-3 weeks.This is a unique role at the Council and within Local Government - the Commercial Director is responsible for 1) Procurement, 2) Governance, Strategy & Insight and 3) Commercial, Contracts & Company Governance. The key focus on this role will be to supportthe management, compliance and governance of the trading companies within the Local Authorities remit so it is key that someone undertaking this role has hands on experience within Local Government and has a strong understanding of UK law governing the tradingof services and procurement in the Public Sector. The Council are currently on an improvement journey so this role will also require someone who can support the Council to deliver its commercial strategy, deliver effective and consistent services, and ensurethat products and services purchased from suppliers represent value for money.KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
