Field Service Engineer- Servicing, installing and repairing scientific Real Time PCR and DNA Sequencing instrumentation at customer sites.- Customers include: hospital, university and biotechnology laboratoriesWe have an exciting opportunity to work in a global biotechnology company, a true market leader and innovator in their field.This is a field-based role requiring a high level of weekly travel (up to 80%) across Nottingham and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel across the UK and Ireland.Role responsibilities:Installing, repairing, maintenance and instruction of use of instruments to ensure safe and effective customer operationsProviding responsive telephone and on-site support and work to ensure that the customer is successful in the use of their instrumentationAssuring a professional relationship with existing customers to achieve customer loyaltyUp-selling of service contracts and products Identifying sales leads and passing to the Sales organisationCoordinating your own work schedule with relevant partners (service coordinator, manager, colleagues)Producing timely and accurate reports of your own activities: i.e. engineer reports, planned maintenance reports, installation reports, expense reports etc.Weekend work will be a requirement on a rotational basisPerson Specification:Electronics, Engineering background desirableEngineering qualification or academic degreeSome past relevant experience within a service function (medical or scientific equipment) OR laboratory experience in troubleshooting and maintenance and desire to move into field serviceExcellent communication skills and able to work well within a teamProficient in EnglishDriving licence required
