Along the way, youll be involved in real-world projects, helping to maintain and enhance our existing applications as well as creating new products and platforms. Youll work collaboratively in small teams to build high quality solutions that meet our customersneeds. Whether you are part of projects that are enabling colleagues across Aviva work more effectively or your focus is creating innovative new services like our award-winning My Aviva customer portal, you can rest assured you will have a positive impact on ourcolleagues and customers. Whatever work youre involved in, itll be interesting and challenging. Youll develop a breadth of experience and skills, and youll do it with the full support of our expert technology community. Our Placements are designed to be a feeder into our GraduateProgrammes. After successful completion, you may be offered a permanent graduate role starting in 2025 (after successful completion of your course).Whats in it for you

What do we look forTo be considered for a placement with us in Software Development, you must be:
  • Studying for an undergraduate degree (in any subject)
  • On a course that supports a placement year
  • Interested in and have some practical experience of coding, whether as part of your studies or as a personal passion
  • Available to work full-time (35 hours per week) from July 2023 to July 2024
  • Intending to return to University for your final year of study after the placement
Where will you be based Our Software Development placement is based in Norwich and its likely youll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office, and two days from home is a typical example, but that can vary. So, when youjoin us, your leader will discuss this with you and agree what works best for you, your team and the organisation. Its important to note, as we work this office/home blend you will need to live within commuting distance of Norwich or be prepared to relocate for the duration of your placement. That way you will get to spend time with your team in person as well as virtuallyand get access to the right support networks internally to help you succeed.
