Job Description

Job title: Senior EcologistSalary: £32,000 - £40,000Location: NorwichPenguin Recruitment are working with one of the UKs leading independent infrastructure and property consultancies, specialising in environment, planning and sustainability. The award-winning company is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their Norwichoffice. As a growing medium-sized business, they are searching for self-motivated and positive-minded Ecologists. This position could provide a great opportunity to lead and deliver complex contracts and support more junior staff, draft high-quality reportsand review technical work, as well as support clients and their design teams by identifying solutions to their problems.The Senior Ecologist position offers:

  • £32,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • TOIL (time off in lieu) policy and flexible approach to working hours
  • 26 days holiday per year increasing to 29 within 3 years

As a Senior Ecologist, your main duties will be:
  • Leading complex projects including surveying technical sites
  • Reviewing reports
  • Project management
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Providing direct consultancy to clients, giving best advice and practice
To be considered for the Senior Ecologist position, you will need:
  • A relevant degree qualification.
  • Proven experience in ecological consultancy or related work.
  • Excellent fieldwork skills with experience of a range of fauna and flora survey methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant UK and European environmental legislation.
  • Hold membership of CIEEM
  • Hold a species licence in one or more of the following species groups: bats, badgers, birds, dormice, great crested newts, reptiles, and water voles.
  • Full clean UK driving licence
