M&E QS - R&D, Hospitals and Schools - Based in Norwich - Norfolk - PermanentA leading M&E Contractor are currently looking for a M&E QS to join their expanding team in Norwich, Norfolk. The company has been trading in the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk area for 50 years, providing M&E services to a wide range of clients andbusinesses, such as Research & Development, hospitals and schools. Typical project values are £2m but usually range between 400k and £5M. The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support to the senior management and M&E Contracts Managers, ensuring contracts are commercially controlled and delivered in line the clients requirements to companys high standards. You will be optimising site activities through cost management, monitoring and control over several multi-disciplined contracts simultaneously, whilst providing commercial support. As the M&E QS you will have the following duties and responsibilities:· Complete the pre-construction buying schedules for team procurement and update monthly· Ensure all costs are accurately recorded on procurement system (COINS) and the project buying schedule· Complete commercial overview assessments of sub-contract orders, passing comments to Commercial Manager· Produce and submit applications for approval· Work in partnership with Project Managers to ensure contract requirements and deadlines· Attend and participate in site meetings and performance reviews· Review sub-contract applications and issue appropriate payment notices as required under the contract· Complete monthly project forecast cost reports and monthly CVRs for all projects· Compile detailed and concise EOT, including supporting information· Advising on legal and contractual issues Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:· Working knowledge of JCT and NEC suite of contracts· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and system databases· Previous experience in commercial or pre-construction· Analytical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail· Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing· Ideally HNC or HND in Building Services· Good negotiation skills Please contact Adam Brown on or or for more information about this role or if you are interested in on a new M&E QS opportunity within the Building Services sector (M&E QS / M&E Quantity Surveyor / M&E Commercial Manager)
