Job Description

Rthirteen are supporting a well-known national organisation in their search for an HGV Technician to join their Norwich branch. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the company fleet of LGV and HGV vehicles ensuring all vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired in accordance with relevant requirements. You willalso prepare vehicles for annual tests and road test vehicles to certify roadworthiness and attend breakdowns. This is an exciting role for an experienced fitter looking to develop and share their expertise with a knowledgeable team.Duties to include:

  • Servicing and repairing vehicles, plants and equipment to a professional standard and in line with relevant legislation.
  • Completing relevant documentation, including legal documents and job cards.
  • Monitoring personal use of parts and ording in a timely manner to minimise vehicle/equipment downtime.
  • Meeting operational requirements and Fleet downtime KPIs.
  • Attending breakdowns or callouts.
  • Diagnosing faults, testing and maintaining a diverse range of electronic controls, electrical circuits and other electrical equipment.
  • Recovering vehicles and equipment from the site, ensuring safety and efficient repairs.
  • Maintaining good relationships with all stakeholders.
You will have/be:
  • City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies or NVQ equivalent in Motor Vehicle Studies (light and heavy vehicles).
  • A full UK Driving Licence & CAT B Licence.
  • Experience in servicing, inspecting, diagnosing & repairing vehicles in a commercial workshop.
  • Proven experience maintaining a range of vehicles including LGV class 3 Licence and DVSA Standards
  • Self-motivated with excellent initiative.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose complex faults whilst operating in field conditions.
  • Working knowledge of electric arc and gas welding.
  • IRTEC certificate of competence in heavy vehicles mechanical/electrical is desirable.
  • Working Knowledge of Vehicle Parts.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and the ability to promote best practice as an individual and for others.
This is full time permanent position offering £35,000 per annum.
