Job Description

Head of Residential ServicesAre you looking for a new challenge and would like to lead a team where you can work with like-minded people to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in care If so, we would love to hear from you!Position: Head of Residential ServicesLocation: East Anglia – Hybrid working, Head office in Norwich with office space in Kings Lynn and PeterboroughJob type: Permanent / Full TimeHours: 35 hours per weekSalary: £50,663 - £57,390 per annumClosing Date: 3rd January 2024About the RoleYou will be providing strategic and operational leadership to a range of residential children’s homes and projects across East Anglia. You will be empowered and supported to develop and shape our services to deliver outstanding outcomes for children andyoung people, leading and developing a team of highly capable and ambitious managers to perform at their best.This role sits as part of the Care Leadership Team, alongside 8 other brilliant people so you will have lots of peer support, and opportunities to stretch your skills and talents and develop your career.No two days will be the same, but each week starts and ends with a whole Care Leadership Team catch-up, sharing risks, plans and successes. You’ll have a few days working at home, some in head office and usually 1-2 days in services (or pro rata for part-time).Key responsibilities of the Head of Residential Services include:

  • To provide strategic and operational leads to a range of residential children’s homes and projects across East Anglia.
  • To develop and shape the services to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people as part of the Care portfolio.
  • To act as the solo and dual residential homes lead within the Care division, working alongside the other Heads of Service.
  • To contribute to the development of the wider care services strategy.
  • Ensure that all legal, contractual and care standards requirements are adhered to on a continuous improvement basis.
  • To be a constructive, committed, and active member of the Break leadership team and continuously promote the wider Break agenda.
To perform well in this role, you’ll need:
  • Educated to degree level or qualified by experience.
  • The ability to attain a Level 7 Management qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience at a management level in a care services environment, ideally managing managers.
  • Working with Children, young people, and families, ideally with experience in residential services.
  • Presenting complex reports and updates to audiences ranging from young people to the Board of Trustees.
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of working to pre-defined timelines and outcome targets.
  • The planning, monitoring, adapting and evaluating of projects including using co-production.
  • Working with a range of outcomes measurement tools.
