Electrical Design EngineerTechnique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist agency working with our client based in Norwich who have a permanent opportunity for a senior electrical design engineer to join their teamRole DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in designing and developing electrical and electronic products (preference given for Rotating Machine applications).with some experience in control system/panel design and development. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will play a crucial role in establishing the full product lifecycle, from concept to deployment, including specifications, procedures, testing,and on-site support. A background in PCB design and knowledge in Hazardous Area requirements are not critical but would be beneficial.Responsibilities:Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new and existing electrical/electronic products for use on and around rotating electrical machines, adhering to industry standards and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensureproduct feasibility and manufacturability.Electrical/Electronic Product Design: Collaborate with other team members who handle PCB and electronic design, providing your insights and understanding to ensure the effective integration of products.Product Specifications: Prepare detailed technical specifications, schematics, and documentation, considering performance requirements, safety standards, environmental conditions, and operational constraints.Testing and Validation: Plan and conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical and electronic products to ensure they meet design criteria and customer expectations. Address any issues discovered during testing promptly and efficiently.Control Systems Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of control systems, including VFDs, PLCs, and other automation components, to create integrated solutions for optimal machine control and operation.Site Work: Be prepared to engage in site work, installation, and commissioning support when required. Collaborate with on-site teams to troubleshoot and resolve any electrical-related issues that may arise.Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in hazardous area regulations. Strive for continuous improvement in product design, performance, and safety.Hazardous Area Compliance: Developexpertise in hazardous area products and work towards achieving and maintaining compliance with relevant IECEx and ATEX standards. Ensure all designs are safe, reliable, and suitable for operation in potentially explosiveatmospheres (training can be provided).QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.Proven experience in designing electrical/electronic products. Rotating Machines are advantageous.Familiarity with Hazardous Area product compliance (IECEx and ATEX).Experience inControl Systems, including VFDs, PLCs, and related technologies.Experience in Control Panel designing and layout.Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and documentation.Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
