Job Description

I have a great new role for a Culture and Events Officer on a temporary contract.Salary: 16.65 per hourContract: Temporary from April 202331st August 2023Hours: Full time 9-5Job Purpose:Under the direction of the culture and events manager, and in partnership with the cultural sector, facilitate the development of cultural initiatives and manage a relevant programme of city and neighbourhood events.Job Responsibilities1. Festivals and events2. Advice and support and cultural development3. Cultural Development4. Open Spaces5. Financial and procurement6. CommunicationKnowledge/Understanding Understanding and knowledge of event management. Understanding and knowledge of the local and national cultural environment Awareness of Health & Safety issues and procedures.Experience Experience in the management of volunteers and staff Experience in the design and management of cultural projects Previous experience in and cultural related activities Experience in working in partnershipSkills/Ability Ability to manage multi-faceted events Ability to research and devise new cultural projects and initiatives Ability to motivate and manage volunteers and staff Ability to Work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work within a team Ability to work on their own initiative Ability to work in partnership Ability to work methodically with attention to detail Basic Computer skills- Microsoft word, excel and access.
