Job Description

Deputy Curriculum Leader for ScienceFull TimeNorton CanesThe Supply Register are recruitingAre you looking to help inspire the next generationAre you looking for a new challengeA fantastic opportunity has arisen at one of our schools for a Deputy Curriculum Leader for Science. Due to continued growth in the school and pupil numbers at Norton Canes High School in Staffordshire they are looking for a Deputy Curriculum Leader forScience to join their team. They are looking for someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic and specialise in either Chemistry or Physics.Responsibilities include:

  • Promote the highest possible standards of achievement and attainment within there area of responsibility
  • Contribute to the development of the whole school ethos and planning ensuring that school priorities are reflected in the activities of their area
  • Assisting in the effective monitoring and review of all activities within the department
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies within the department which reflect the schools commitment to high achievement based on effective teaching and learning
  • Be aware of the implications for the subject of the Code of Practice for Special Educational Needs, and to liaise with the SENDCO to ensure that individual education plans with extension activities are effectively used to set subject specific targets andto match work to pupils needs
  • To set standards and provide a role model for staff and pupils in the teaching and learning of the subject, acknowledging and disseminating good practice as appropriate
Experience:
  • Hold a degree in the subject
  • QTS
  • Previous experience teaching Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Previous curriculum lead experience would be desirable
