Job Description

Reed Engineeringis currently recruiting for aShift-based Electrical Engineering positionbased in Northfleet. The company, established over100 years ago, specializes in refining lead and silver and isactively working on an ambitious plan to promote theCircular Economyin the UK’s metal industry.They are seeking anElectrical Shift Technicianto work an average of42 hours per weekon a shift pattern that includes both days and nights. The successful candidate should hold anHNC level qualification in ElectricalEngineeringor a similar field. Ideally, they will haveat least 1 year of experienceworking in ahot metal or heavy manufacturing environmentand possess a thorough understanding of theIEE Wiring Regulations,PLCs,ACDrives,Instrumentation, andLV distribution equipment.Key Responsibilitiesfor the position include:

  • Carrying out shift-based duties, includingbreakdown repair,planned maintenance, andimprovement programs.
  • Following a schedule of planned work, which includesinspection,servicing, andinstallationtasks.
  • Working on a wide range of electrical equipment, including up to11kV under supervision.
Theideal candidateshould be:
  • Physically fit, capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Experienced in electrical work within ahot metal or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable about theIEE Wiring Regulations,PLCs,AC Drives,Instrumentation, andLV distribution equipment.
  • Familiar with relevantInternational/British Standards.
  • Able todiagnose complex faultsand handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in conductingrisk assessments.
  • Skilled atnetworkingand building professional relationships.
