Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: Utility OperatorLocation:NorthallertonContract and Shift details:Permanent 2 week rotating over a 6-day rota

  • Week 1 – Monday – Friday Days 6am-2pm days
  • Week 2 – Monday – Saturday Days 12pm – 8pm Mon-Friday, 6am-4pm Saturday
Have you got previous experience of working in a production/ manufacturing or enjoy ensuring information is accurate in line with processes If so, join our team in this varied role.The role of the Utility Operator is to carry out a range of tasks in support of the mill operation and milling process which can include
  • raw material intake / weighbridge operation
  • bulk out loading
  • additives preparation
  • hygiene housekeeping
Some of the things you will be doing:
  • operatethe weighbridge to ensure all vehicle weights are recorded
  • review delivery paperwork to ensure it matches the expected loads, and is complete and correct before accepting foods inwards
  • direct unloading of liquids, or packaged goods, that are not under the control of datastor at the point of unloading
  • check the cleanliness of all collection vehicles before loading
  • log samples manually into AX business system and despatch for testing, as directed by the quality assurance team
  • take the necessary precautions when handling drugs and additives, with medicated feed always locked away securely
  • follow appropriate storage and stock rotation
To be successful in this role we are looking for the following:
  • prior experience in food / agriculture or production environment
  • working with automated plant machinery
  • forklift truck licence
  • HACCP Level 2
  • good IT skills
