NEPHROLOGY SERVICES Registered Nurse – Renal Dialysis Unit AFC Band 5 Various Hours Available PERMANENT We are expanding our renal dialysis services and will soon deliver renal dialysis from The Friarage, Northallerton in addition to our well established services based at James Cook University Hospital. This is an exciting time to come and join our team.As a result of our expansion plans we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurses to support our Renal Dialysis Unit. The Renal Dialysis Unit provides assessment care and support for all dialysis dependent patients within a day care unit setting.At present, James Cook University Hospital (JCUH) operates a 20 station dialysis unit, open Monday to Saturday. The JCUH unit is currently open for 5 shifts per week, dialysing patients on 3 shifts (morning, afternoon and evening 07:00-24:00hrs) on Monday Wednesday and Friday, and on 2 shifts (morning and afternoon (07:00-19:30hrs) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The unit at JCUH provides out-patient dialysis for approximately 96 patients as well as supporting dialysis for patients with renal failure who are admitted to hospital. Expansion will see an additional twilight shift delivered at JCUH and development of a 10 station dialysis unit at FHN.The post holder will be expected to work as part of the renal multidisciplinary team with a focus on delivering haemodialysis, plasma exchange and supporting the national shared care initiative. Therapies are delivered within the in centre renal unit, ward 4 and critical care areas. The department offers an out of hour’s service so the post holder will be expected to be part of an on call rota.
