Job Description

Janitor / Caretaker - Extra CareNorthallerton with travel around various sites£18,602 per annum pro rataPart Time - 22.5 hours per weekPermanentOur client has a great opportunity available for a Janitor to provide efficient and effective janitorial support to the organisation including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas is maintained.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the integrity and security of the premises and its contents
  • Opening and closing premises (gates, doors, windows)
  • Conducting and documenting health and safety inspections both inside and out
  • Checking and monitoring systems and functions (heating, radiator valves, water temperatures etc)
  • Replacing lamps / bulbs and domestic fuses and synchronising clocks and time switches etc
  • Maintaining appropriate records including repair orders and carrying out meter readings
  • Carrying out weekly fire alarm tests, emergency lighting tests and assisting with evacuation procedures
    • About youTheir ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience of working in a janitorial or cleaning role, ideally with vulnerable people in an office or residential setting
  • Knowledge of CoSHH regulations
  • Good DIY skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to organise and prioritise
  • It would be advantageous for you to hold a First Aid Certificate and City and Guilds Supervisory and Cleaning Services qualification or equivalent
  • A valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle as this role will be across multiple sites.
