Job Description

Our clientNigel Wright are delighted to be exclusively supporting Vehicle Lease and Service with their search for a Compliance Manager to join their North Shields Head Office.As a leading Fleet Management and maintenance company, VLS operates a fleet of more than 4500 assets including van and company cars and has a team of specialist engineers based within their workshops to ensure vehicles are fully compliant.They pride themselves on providing exceptional customer service to businesses in the utility and local authority sectors.This is a fantastic opportunity for a data driven individual who is inquisitive and enjoys analysing data, whilst providing excellent customer service to their clients.Hybrid working is available, working 2 days from home once comfortable in the role.The opportunityThe role of Compliance Manager will ensure compliance across the VLS company in relation to Quality, Safety & Environmental risks across their 4500 vehicles and assets from 10 locations in the UK.Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain certification of integrated managements systems to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001; ensuring that VLS behaviours and controls minimise the risk of quality, health & safety, environmental incidents.
  • Ensure external ISO 9001, 14001,45001 audits are organised and completed for head office & selected sites by UKAS accredited certification body.
  • Develop understanding of the fleet management system and transport compliance to enable support to the wider VLS compliance. This will entail reviewing the process interactions with the fleet data base and supporting the development of compliance controlreports.
  • Provide support for the ISO 27001 quality system.
  • Auditing of head office and satellite sites; review, monitor and support outstanding actions.
  • Undertake annual management review for all ISO Systems.
  • Lead the SHEQ meetings within VLS and update management team.
  • Review and work with departments to ensure Key Risks / tasks are identified, documented, and have appropriate controls in place.
  • Identify process improvements and lead introduction of efficient workflows.
About youAs an experience Compliance Manager, you will have considerable previous experience gained in the pro-active management of quality, safety and environmental systems. With a passion for customer service, you will look to continue to improve working processesand systems to exceed our customer expectations. Your well developed communication skills will enable you to effective undertake risk assessment and investigations, whilst giving confidence to the Directors and external stakeholders.
