Job Description

TEC Partners are pleased to be recruiting for a leading Offshore/Subsea business in recruiting for a Laboratory Manager at their busy site in the Norfolk area.This Laboratory Manager position will involve directly managing the laboratory technicians and directing the testing from key projects, whilst actively growing laboratory testing capacity.Lab Manager Responsibilities:

Executing laboratory testing programs, and effectively distributing work to technicians

Leading and managing the laboratory technician team, including performance management, mentoring and appraisals

Overall responsibility for the laboratory, including testing, processing and analysis of tests

Maintain UKAS accreditation, and support the growth of the Lab

Deliver on lab projects on time and in budget, to an excellent standard of quality (including subcontractor management where necessary)

Constantly maintain, and where necessary improve, laboratory testing equipment to meet the needs of the business/projects

Continuously evaluate resources, processes and procedures to ensure a culture of continuous improvement

Be responsible for health and safety in the laboratory environment

Lab Manager Required Experience:

Relevant degree level education (Masters/PhD desirable)

Prior experience in a similar/relevant industry

Demonstrable experience with advanced testing related to the following: effective stress triaxial, direct simple shear, resonant column or bender elements

Aware of the aims of laboratory testing and the validity of results

Management or supervisory experience in a similar role
