Job Description

Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager with excellent communication skills, an FLT Licence and experience leading and motivating a team to success If yes, our client wants to hear from you.Warehouse Manager£31,000 - £36,000 Depending on Experience + Excellent Benefits PackageFull time, Permanent PositionNewtownabbey, County Antrim, BT36Please Note: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.Our client is a transport company is recognised as the market leader in parcel, pallet & groupage collection and delivery services between the UK and Ireland, as well as specialist delivery services within North and Mid Wales.Due to continued success, they are now looking to appoint a Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse and the safe an efficient operation of the yard. You will also be required to contribute to improving productivityoutput, reducing cost, minimising customer complaints and utilising the warehouse resources to their full potential.As Warehouse Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the warehouse.
  • Identify and implement the daily tasks necessary to conduct our business through the staff reporting to you.
  • Oversee the daily arrivals of all inbound trailers whilst optimising staff utilisation.
  • Ensure effective communication between all areas of our business.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the team.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the warehouse.
  • Ensuring there is a culture of safe working practise and keeping records.
  • Be responsible for security of the building, contents and employees.
  • Take an active role in regard of input into preparation of annual depot budget.
  • Ensure all warehouse /operational functions are conducted in line with all agreed Company procedures.
  • Ensure all HR issues are promptly dealt with in conjunction with Group HR.
  • Supervision of holidays, sickness and absence reporting and control.
  • To ensure high standards of customer care particularly in respect of proper handling of all customers goods.
  • Managing and maintaining site facilities.
  • Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives.
  • Ensuring there are sufficient staffing measures within the warehouse and yard.
  • Any other duties that the Company may reasonably require from time to time.

Essential Criteria:
  • Previous proven line management experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent level of communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Must be able to coordinate and prioritise workload in a changing and demanding environment.
  • A Forklift licence and a good knowledge of Health & Safety are required.
