Job Description

Energy ManagerAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Energy Manager to join a leading organisation based in Belfast, Coleraine, or Derry/Londonderry.This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position.With a salary of £ £46,974- £56,054 per annum.Job Role:Reporting to the Head of Asset Management for Energy Leadership, Strategy and Management.Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Energy management, or a science related to the management of energy.
  • Relevant post qualification work experience in a relevant Engineering or Building Services environment.
  • Experience of implementing an energy management strategy to achieve energy savings targets, to include experience of energy audits.
  • Experience of energy management in an organisation with greater than 50 employees as well as effective management of an energy budget.
  • Knowledge and experience of using computerised systems for gathering and analysing statistics leading to improvements in energy performance.
  • Knowledge of the economic impact of energy management, and evidence of an ability to convey this effectively to internal and external audiences Project management in a relevant area.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
  • Willingness to travel between sites to fulfil duties of the role.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Estates or Energy Management and/or hold full membership in one of the professional bodies regulating the engineering or energy management professions.
  • Experience of heating plant, electrical power and heat distribution as related to large scale building services systems and/or experience of Building Energy Management Systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute a plan to reduce energy and carbon usage and provide expert guidance on these topics.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on the utilities used and spent by the business and update the GOM monthly.
  • Maintain and improve the Energy AM&T System and the BMS.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management and Estate Customer Services to track energy data and find ways to save energy.
  • - Support and advise managers in Faculties and Professional Services on how to lower energy usage and costs.
  • Lead monthly energy meetings and examine energy data, detect system failures or unusual consumptions, and develop new systems or methods to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct and commission energy audits of the companys buildings and properties, write reports and suggest energy saving measures and advise on compliance with energy and environmental laws. Find, fund and manage projects to save energy.
  • Evaluate costs and benefits, set goals and standards, and arrange contracts for these projects.
  • Encourage energy saving across the business by various means, such as joining groups and campaigns, collaborating with universities and government agencies, and sharing best practices.
  • Train and inform staff on energy saving as needed.
  • Present to staff, including senior management, on good practices and energy saving.
  • Provide energy conservation awareness training and information as required.
  • Make presentations to staff including senior management to explain good practice and promote energy conservation.
