We provide our business with more than9,000vehicles and over25,000ownedor externally hired plant assets.Our team has grown rapidly and we are responsible for the supply and management of specialist equipment and vehicles, supplying the Water, Energy, Transport, Data and Telecommunication sectors.You will be part of our Specialist Plant & Fleet Team who are responsible for the maintenance and delivery of 90,000+ assets to projects throughout the UK .Who you arePrimarily working in the overhead line industry, as a business we maintain, test and inspect a wide range of lifting equipment and Plant & Machinery for distribution to projects throughout the UK.Do you like a challenge, are keen to develop your skills and enjoy finding solutionsIf you want to make a difference working with a supportive team environment, we would be pleased to hear from you.As the Yard Person, you’ll get the opportunity to:

  • Manage the organisation of the external yards ensuring they are safe, tidy and maintained at all times, including the external storage yard
  • Manage end to end the loading and unloading process at the NDC and storage yard to maintain a consistent approach to safety throughout the site.
  • Manage materials at the NDC for potential distribution throughout the UK for future utilisation and efficiencies.
  • Load and unload vehicles taking equipment to and from construction sites, including articulated lorries, using Fork Lift Trucks and Telehandler’s
  • Prepare, inspect and certify lifting and other specialist equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER regulations against a site request. Always ensuring that all items are booked out of the warehouse to the correct site in liaison with the STE Office team,working to strict deadlines, with occasional visits to projects staying away from home for short periods.

  • This role will require the occasional stay away from home for short periods of time.
