We have a great opportunity for a Quality Manager.About the projectThe M6 between junctions 21a and 26 is a key strategic route carrying around 120,000 vehicles daily between Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester. Congestion and unreliable journey rimes are currently experienced at busy periods and traffic is predicted to grow. The scheme will relieve congestion and the smooth flow of traffic, improving safety and journey times.The Smart motorway solution is a technology-driven approach to tackling the most congested parts of the motorway network, improving journey reliability by controlling the flow and speed of traffic. This supports the economy by providing much-needed capacity on the busiest motorways, while maintaining safety for road users and those who work on the roads.Key Responsibilities·Ensure that the procedural requirements are in place on the scheme to comply withThe Costain Way and the Smart Motorway Alliance Quality Management Plan.·Ensure that the Project Quality Plans are in place, maintained, kept up to date, and that additional controls are added to suit the site practices.·Ensure that all relevant project staff are aware of the contents of the Project Quality Plans.·Ensure the requirements of the Project Quality Plans are monitored and performance against it is regularly reviewed·Liaise and co-ordinate with Quality Management Teams of Smart Motorway Alliance partner organisations·Prepare and issue Quality Reports to the Smart Motorway Alliance·Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the Integrated Quality Verification Team·Support the Quality Inspectors, Materials Engineer and the Construction Team·Manage the internal audit schedule of Quality systems·Promote a continuous improvement and right first-time culture on the project·Drive the digital transformation of Quality records and documentation·Mentoring and advisory capacity to the project team concerning Quality issues and best practices.·Provide training and assistance in Quality systems to site-based staff as required during the project lifecycle.·Share best practice and lessons learnt internally with the project team, the wider alliance, and Costain Quality Community·Provide all required information relating to Quality Systems for the purpose of reporting, assessments and audits·Manage the satisfactory resolution of findings and corrective actions from internal/external audits·Prepare and promote Quality System inductions and work instructions for Costain and where applicable for consultants and sub-contractors.·Chair quality management meetings for the wider team including client representatives, including Quality Risk Reviews·Manage the inspection and testing regime operated by the project team - preparation, schedule and sign-off on ITP’s with consistent and sufficient information·Manage and maintain the ITP, NCR and defects registers·Manage the NCR and defect management process·Manage the production of all quality related packages for handover, including verification records and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.·Embrace the Costain Operational Excellence Model and manage the completion and verification of the Quality Excellence Assessment
