Job Description

Production ManagerLocation - Newton Abbot, DevonSalary: £50k - £60k plus excellent benefits A specialist precision machining company who manufactures Bronze & Stainless-Steel products for the Marine Industry are now looking for a Production Manager to join their team.Production Manager - Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure production targets are met.
  • Manage a bespoke machining workshop with 50 employees and middle line managers.
  • Responsible for maintaining, improving and promoting a world class H&S environment in all manufacturing areas. Safety first and foremost.
  • Lead and motivate your team to meet the agreed objectives, priorities and targets
  • Day to day supervision and care of all site personnel in your team, i.e. communication, appraisal, training, disciplinary matters, employee hours and shift working arrangements.
  • Delivery of the training and competency plan (assessing, recording and ensuring delivery of training requirements for all production employees to ensure they meet the required level of capability)
  • Supporting the Quality function and have a "right first time approach".
  • Manage the provision of consumable/materials for site
  • Maintain good working practices, workplace organisation (5S) in line with Company health, safety, environmental and quality systems
  • Be involved in the interviewing, selection and development of employees employed on the site
  • Regular contact / communication with all site leaders to ensure daily plans and targets are understood including organising the morning meetings
  • Management and reporting of cost, quality and delivery KPIs.
  • Managing customer service levels and developing business through good customer relationships.
The ideal candidate MUST come from the Manufacturing Industry as a Production Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
  • Ideally hold an engineering qualification such as C&G, HNC, HND or BEng
  • Ideally come from a CNC, Precision Machining background
  • Use to producing Low Volume Bespoke Products
