Job Description

Due to organic growth, this top-tier full-service law firm is offering an ambitious court of protection solicitor (or chartered legal executive) the opportunity to join their busy private client department in any of their offices based in Cornwall, Devon,or Somerset.The emphasis of your role will be on:

  • Preparing court of protection applications to include ancillary and deputy applications e.g. applications relating to statutory wills and gifts etc
  • Preparing annual deputy reports to the OPG, dealing with costs draftsman and the senior courts costs office in relation to billing to include e-billing
  • Advising elderly, disabled, and vulnerable individuals in the everyday execution of their financial and personal affairs
  • Dealing with the family of clients, lay attorneys, and lay deputies
  • Working with case managers, managers of care/nursing homes, and other professionals
  • Having an awareness of and being able to identify care funding needs, deliberate deprivation of assets, and benefit issues for referral to our dedicated benefit experts and community care department
  • Being able to advise on the mental capacity act and other related regulations such as the care act
Ideally, you will have 3 years + PQE and demonstrate a real enthusiasm for court of protection work, as well as a hunger for driving your career forward and maintaining outstanding client satisfaction. ACTAPS and STEP membership is not essential, but it wouldbe advantageous.Alongside a competitive salary range (£40,000 - £60,000) dependent on your experience, you would be rewarded with flexibility, generous holiday plans, and a fantastic benefits package.Apply today to put your CV through for consideration.
