Job Description

Are you passionate about ensuring regulatory compliance within the food production industry Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to joinour clients team as a Compliance Technologist at growing Food Production company in Newton Abbot!My Client is a leading food production company dedicated to providing high-quality, safe, and delicious products to consumers. With their commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, we have established ourselves as a trusted brand in the industry.They are looking to continue to grow and are seeking a talented Compliance Technologist to ensure their products meet all regulatory requirements.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain compliance with relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, BRC, FSSC 22000, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Assist the Technical manager in conducting regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor quality management systems and ensure compliance throughout the production process.
  • Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of awareness and accountability.
  • Approving new suppliers and ensuring supplier approval documentation is up to date and conforms to requirements e.g GFSI certification
  • Stay informed about emerging regulatory trends and industry developments, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and adaptation.
  • Taking part in investigating customer complaints where raw materials may be implicated.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding non-conforming raw materials, product specifications and technical issues.
Requirements:
  • Ideally a Bachelors degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar compliance role within the food production industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive mindset, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes.
Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 DOEBenefits -
