Job Description

AccountantNewton Abbot£30,000 - £40,000Part-time, 3dpwWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a market-leading organisation based on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.This role is tailor-made for an Accountant who is diligent with an excellent eye for detail, as you will need to prepare all financial reports accurately and to a high standard. You must have good communication skills for effective business partnering asyou be required to meet regularly with the senior management team, customers and external providers.Key Duties Include:

  • Preparation of all financial reports, including balance sheets, VAT returns, and external reporting as required.
  • Developing dashboard reporting for departmental use, extracting and presenting insights from the database.
  • Meeting regularly with the senior management team to keep them informed and to offer insights and guidance.
  • Reviewing reports, and analysing projected sales and profit against actual figures, and budgeted expenses against final totals.
  • Preparing annual accounts to final TB stage including schedules for the external auditors.
  • Co-ordinate customer finance on high-value products.
  • Maintaining total confidentially at all times.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate will be either AAT qualified or CIMA/ACA/ACCA part-qualified, and possess a proven track record of working in a similar position, ideally in a large, multi-site organisation.
  • You will have Excellent IT skills, particularly working with Microsoft Excel to manipulate large datasets, and experience with SQL reporting and an understanding of PowerBI.
  • Excellent analytical, business planning, problem solving, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An eye for detail and exceptional organisation skills to ensure work is completed by agreed deadlines.
