Job Description

REED are recruiting! Are you a talented analytical scientist looking for your next permanent role, within a company that offers progression and supportDo you have experience with Liquid or Gas Chromatography Experience in working within a UKAS accredited laboratory Read on!About the JobLocation: lab-based with one day/week from home (negotiated).Being available for the management standby rota (1 in 9 weeks) - from home.

  • Acting as technical lead for the identification and development of new Organic Chemistry methods and processes along with the selection and purchase of new analytical instrumentation.
  • Providing technical support and advice on matters related to Organic Chemistry analytical testing to relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing technical training and development of new Analytical Services staff in the field of Organic Chemistry.
  • Troubleshooting complex problems associated with Organic Chemistry.
  • Assisting the Chemistry Laboratory Department Manager in applying analytical best practice and interpretation of results.
  • Representing the company on relevant internal and external technical forums, e.g., SCA Steering Group.
  • Keeping up to date with current techniques, topics, and legislation in order to advise on accurate implementation of their requirements.
About YouExperience
  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant scientific subject (equivalent relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to formal qualifications).
  • Previous relevant experience in working within a UKAS accredited laboratory.
  • Experience of developing and validating organic chemistry methods.
  • Relevant experience of instrument and method troubleshooting.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first.
  • Good understanding and experience of computer packages including LIMS packages used for laboratory reporting.
