Job Description

This Laboratory Test Engineer will be responsible for Managing the laboratory resources on a day to day basis, to effectively support priority global NPI and ESR activities development activities.Client DetailsMy client are the industrial leaders within their sector serving the global community with their mission and goals.DescriptionThe responsibilities for this position are-

  • Supporting Development/Plant/Applications activities
  • Working as part of a global development team supporting qualification tests of new products and approval of new supplier materials/components.
  • Maximising laboratory capabilities through efficient planning and utilisation of equipment.
  • Assisting Marketing/Applications team with customer test requests
  • Supporting motive/rail sectors with new business opportunities.
  • Data analysis for discussion among peer & senior management groups.
  • Planning / Test execution / Data Analysis (MS Office & Minitab), Fault Finding (Autopsy analysis) / Summary report creation & distribution up to Corporate level
  • Attending and contributing to calls relating to New Product Introduction / Engineering Support Request projects and providing project management teams with required design, validation, plan & report information and scheduling of testing.
  • Managing resource allocation to ensure that Development & Test programs are completed minimal lead times
ProfileThe successful candidate will have-
  • Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience requirement:
  • GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C or above
  • A level in a relevant Scientific discipline or Maths, at Grade C or above
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office program suite
  • Detailed report writing skills
  • Line Management experience
  • Previous experience of delivering measurable results in a busy environment
  • Experience of working with cross - functional teams to achieve objectives
  • Good communication skills and able to liaise across all areas of the business
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Demonstrate a high degree of housekeeping in the workplace
  • Familiar with 5S and Six Sigma lean enterprise initiatives
