Job Description

Senior FPGA Engineer - Newport - £400 day rate - 6 months contract - Inside IR35Im looking for an experienced engineer - fully versed in design methodologies, familiar with VHDL and experience working with either Altera / Microsemi or Xilinx to work as a Senior FPGA Engineer in Newport.Main duties:

  • Analysing requirements, specifying and documenting the FPGA solution and work breakdown
  • Preparing FPGA architectural designs and documentation
  • Designing / generating and implementing FGPA design and implementing onto the target platform
  • Providing FPGA technical support
  • Representing the clients on project related matters at Stakeholder meetings.
    • Desirable skills:
  • Experience of FPGA design and implementation for communications equipment or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of FPGA development process
  • Recent experience with the following tools/dev environments: Altera Quartus II / Mentor ModelSim / MicroSemi Libero IDE, SoC / Xilinx Vivado
  • Proficient in at least one simulation tool / FPGA synthesis tool
  • Having a good understanding of requirements capture and work package definition / estimation.
