Job Description

Sales Manager - TimberJob Title: Sales Manager - TimberIndustry Sector: Sawn Hardwood, Sawn Softwood, Fire Retardant Plywood, Carcassing, Decorative Veneered Plywood, Timber, Timber Processing, Sawmilling, Builders Merchants, Timber Merchants, Large Industrial End Users, Sales ManagementOffice based: NewportRemuneration: £50,000-£60,000neg + 15% BonusBenefits: Fully expensed Hybrid or Electric Car or Car Allowance & Full BenefitsThe role of the Sales Manager - Timber will involve:

  • Sales Manager, selling a manufactured range of timber products including; hardwood, softwood, sheet materials, panel processing, fencing, carcassing, fire retardant plywood etc.
  • Selling into timber merchants, builders merchants and large industrial end users
  • Managing a sales team of 10 (6 internally based and 4 field based)
  • Responsible for the coaching and development of the sales team, ensuring individual and team targets are met
  • Generating new revenue, establishing stock levels, merchandising, product training, product awareness and building relationships
  • Regularly liaising with external sales team and providing support where required
  • Driving the branch sales to meet the annual target of circa £30m
  • 100% office based initially with scope to go 50/50 office to road once up and running
The ideal applicant will be a Sales Manager - Timber with:
  • Must have demonstrable sales management experience in current role and/or previous roles
  • Must have experience within the construction industry, ideally timber products
  • Will also consider a really good sales person with the experience, knowledge and mindset
  • Outstanding attitude, our client is looking for "can-do" approach, proactive nature, intelligence and roll sleeves up mentality
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent people person with an attentive attitude to problem solving
  • Possess quality people management and motivational skills
  • Relationship builder, but also capable of new business development
  • Looking for longevity in career, no job hoppers
  • Hungry and with a desire to succeed
