Job Description

Hales Group are seeking a Repairs Supervisor to lead and manage a team of trade specific and multi-skilled operatives. You will be responsible for the organisation, control, supervision and monitoring of responsive works as directed to the housing stockand associated areas. You will prepare and process orders, schedules of repair and, if required, estimates for all the work to be carried out. The post holder will also undertake post inspections to ensure the quality of repairs and reduce levels of re-work.Principle Responsibilities - Repairs Supervisor:

Undertake assessments of responsive works job orders, prepare specifications, risk assessments, process orders, schedules of materials and if required estimates for the work to be carried out.
To supervise and co-ordinate the work of a team of operatives, providing technical, legislative and procedural advice as required. Motivate the team to deliver a high standard of responsive works, regularly reviewing and reporting on operational performance.Liaise with appointed sub-contractors and the responsive works planning team regarding scheduling of repairs to ensure works are carried out expeditiously and in accordance with statutory regulations.
Ensure Non Licensed, Non Notifiable works with asbestos containing materials (CAT B) are issued and undertaken in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.
To regularly support operatives in the work regarding any issues regarding customers and their expectations.
Undertake on site quality inspections in social housing properties and related areas.
Answer correspondence and telephone calls, including stage one complaints from members of the public, tenants, councillors and MPs.
Supervise responsive works operatives. Support, train and supervise staff within responsive repairs section. Implement personal training and development plans. Hold and record monthly one to ones and appraisals half yearly.

The successful Surveyor (Repairs) candidate will have demonstrable experience of the following:

Must hold an HNC, or equivalent in Building Studies / Construction or equivalent (or be prepared to obtain).
Current CITB CSCS card (or be prepared to obtain).
Relevant Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely, asbestos (CAT B) and Construction Design and Management (CDM) (or be prepared to obtain).
Good knowledge of landlords consultative and repairing obligations including Right to Repair, Leaseholder and disrepair regulations.
Significant knowledge of the risks and hazards associated with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs).
Membership of the RICS / CIOB or equivalent institution and be working towards corporate membership.
Must have considerable experience in building surveying related to maintenance and upgrades in social housing and properties.
Possess full UK driving license.
