Job Description

The Company:Our client in South Wales specialises in the provision of live-site electrical dismantling and demolition services throughout the UK, to major blue-chip companies within the utilities sector.As an approved contractor to the electricity industry the company provides a total package approach competently managing all health, safety and environmental risks associated with the decommissioning of redundant heavy electrical plant and associated materials.The role:You will support the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager with the effective implementation of the Health and Safety Policy in accordance with the Integrated Management System. Daily, you will advocate a positive health and safety culture and providea visible health and safety presence throughout the business at both client sites throughout the UK and company premises.The candidate:You will hold a NEBOSH qualification and have experience of working in an advisory role, conducting site inspections and audits. Due to the nature of our business, any crane and / or lifting operations experience would be advantageous. Travel with some overnightstays will be required so flexibility is key.Overview:
  • Undertaking depot and site inspections at client sites
  • Investigating / recording incidents, accidents and near misses
  • Identifying potential hazards and determining ways of reducing risks
  • Compiling bulletins and newsletters
  • Delivering in-house training presentations to company employees
  • Attending health and safety meetings, some which could be at client sites
  • Attending training courses
  • Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation and company procedures

  • Good negotiation communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical investigative mind coupled with a high level of attention to detail, problem solving and organisational skills
  • IT literate with the ability to apply applicable detailed legal, technical, and regulatory information.
Qualifications / requirements:
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • A broad understanding of environmental legislation
  • Full clean driving license
  • Willing to travel
  • Experience of lifting operations advantageous
Salary / benefits:
  • Up to £35k Negotiable DOE
