Job Description

Finance and Accounts ManagerThe description below describes the nature of the role and is not limited to the tasks set out. The individual may be required to provide additional support when requested.Job Title: Finance and Accounts ManagerJob Type: Permanent, Full Time.Location: Newport, South WalesSalary: £35,000.00 to £40,000.00Reports to: Group Finance DirectorJob Purpose:To support the Group Finance Director in the provision of legal financial services to the Convey Group of businesses by providing leadership support and stakeholder and staff management in relation to our busy Accounts Department.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Group Finance Director with preparation, reconciliation, posting, balancing of monthly, quarterly, and annual Legal and Management Accounts and VAT Returns.
  • Financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Preparation of Monthly Payroll, PAYE, National Insurance, and Workplace Pensions requirements.
  • Ensuring high-quality reporting, policies, and procedures are in place to effectively manage our busy Accounts Department and a suite of businesses.
  • Supporting the Finance Director in leading and managing the Accounts Department and our team of Legal Cashiers.
  • Facilitating interdepartmental and regulatory audits.
  • Submission of charity Gift Aid Claims, payments and reconciliations.
  • Managing and reconciling all apprenticeship funding.
  • Managing all Accounting and Finance functions across multiple businesses including the formation of new companies.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in managing all areas of accounting, payroll, and reporting for multiple companies at any one time.
  • Supervisory/management experience in a fast-paced and demanding Finance Department.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, credit control, and accounts administration.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software packages including Sage 50.
  • Ability to lead and deliver on Accounts-related projects.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a legal environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of CLC Accounts Rules.
  • Experience of supporting the formation of new business accounts and payroll.
  • A commitment to personal development and willingness to learn.
  • Have or be working towards accounts qualifications offered by the ILFM or ACCA.
