The National Council for the Training of Journalists has an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join its examinations team.The NCTJ is the UK media industry’s journalism training charity, awarding organisation and training provider.We are passionate about high standards of journalism and the importance of best practice. This will involve administering registrations, applications and enrolments, exams, results and certificates, reports, processing orders and other general administration tasks and communications. You will have specific responsibility for the administration of our Certificate in Foundation Journalism qualification.Skills and experienceThe ideal candidates will already have excellent administration skills but we also welcome those who are enthusiastic and willing to learn. It is really important that our team members have great integrity and can be completely trusted with confidential information about our learners and trainers. You need to be well-organised, efficient and able to work quickly and accurately under pressure to strict deadlines. All NCTJ staff must have an excellent standard of English and writing ability as well as digital and IT skills. We are looking for people with good interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with our customers who come from all walks of life.Remuneration and benefitsFor this full-time post the NCTJ offers a salary of £18,000-£20,000 (depending on experience) with regular salary reviews and further training and career development opportunities.Other benefits include 25 days of paid holiday per annum, company bonus scheme, free life cover and a matched pension contribution of five per cent of salary.Working environmentThe NCTJ has a friendly working environment with a team-working and goal-orientated culture.
