Technical Manager - (with strong IT background)Newcastle Upon Tyne and Working from HomeFull-Time (Temporary- Six Month Contract Potential Permanent)Competitive SalaryOverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager with a very strong information technology and people management background to join a small but fast moving and growing business with a great team to work with in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ideally looking for someone who has very good technical and managerial experience to help advance the business. This role will be on a fixed-term full-time contract basis, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent. You will form part of the senior management team, manage three direct reports at management level and report directly to the Managing Director.Job Description

  • A key member of the Team, providing day to day planning and strategic direction and critical thinking to achieve operational objectives while able to get into the detail of the work at hand
  • Manage the three core teams within operational support, 11 staff including 3 Team Leaders
  • Report business performance to the Company Directors
  • Identify efficiencies and streamline processes through agile working
  • Support continuous improvement by developing direct reports and communicating and demonstrating best practice
  • Update, analyse and monitor departmental KPIs
  • Lead a team through the lifecycle of a project, from conception through to decommission
  • Manage capacity planning, resource utilisation and resource scheduling
  • Support duties such as client meetings, attending networking events and HR activity
  • Person Specification - Essential
  • A minimum of two years previous experience managing direct reports at Senior Manager level in a demanding, growth business
  • Commercial background in a fast-paced, results-driven, quality-focused operational environment
  • Strong IT skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills with an approachable nature, highly effective communication and the ability to develop and effectively motivate the teams
  • You will have experience of leading 1st or 2nd line Support functions at management level, alongside expertise in driving and implementing a desktop service strategy. You must have experience in creating, implementing and maintaining first class processes and operating procedures.
