Job Description

MTrecs new career opportunity;MTrec Technical is proudly representing our prestigious client in Newcastle City Centre. They are now looking to recruit a temporary Storekeeper and to work as part of an unbelievable team. The company are looking for a committed and hard-working individual to join their team.The Job youll do;

  • To maintain stock levels through ordering all goods as required e.g. food, drink, consumables etc; to ensure provision of a high-quality catering service to meet the needs of customers.
  • To receive all incoming goods ensuring they are of the correct type, quality and quantity and delivered in accordance with and Service Policies.
  • To take remedial action where this is not the case e.g. notify suppliers and line manager of short deliveries, refuse delivery where product does not meet standards.
  • Undertake all aspects of stock control e.g. ensuring goods are promptly stored in the correct designated location, manner and at the correct temperature and stock rotation and stock takes are carried out at the end of each month to maintain quality, minimisewastage and safeguard from theft.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the Assistant Storekeeper including the assignment of tasks liaising with colleagues to ensure provision of assistance when required (if applicable to work location.)
  • Prepare and issue all goods for the days production and service maintaining appropriate records, as required using predetermined checklists. Organise delivery or, if necessary, deliver food and non-food stores as requisitioned on a daily basis.
  • Accurately record all goods received and their subsequent transfer to the various outlets onto the stock control system on a daily basis.
  • Use the information provided by the computerised stock control system to input journal transfers into SAP to correctly charge each cost centre with the value of stock issued to it.
  • To assist in the SAP/P2P purchasing process as directed.
  • Ensure that the work environment and work practices comply with operating procedures, food hygiene and health and safety legislation. Undertake health and safety audits as required e.g. hazard monitoring, accident reporting etc. to ensure compliance withlocal safety policies and legislation.
  • Monitoring and recording of temperature dials for all cold/freezer storerooms twice daily to ensure that they are correctly calibrated and operating correctly and report damaged equipment such as split/worn cold room door seals to line manager.
  • Report any irregularities or concerns with stored items immediately to line manager e.g. decaying food, evidence of pests in accordance with food hygiene legislation and service policies and procedures.
About You;
  • Previous storekeeping experience in a catering environment or food environment is essential.
  • Good level of education to GCSE level in English and Maths.
  • Has a good knowledge of computers - excel, outlook, other systems -stock holding systems.
  • Hold a Food Safety for Caterers - Level 3 Certificate and have a knowledge of current food hygiene legislation.
  • Basic IT experience (data entry)
  • The ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
  • Have excellent communications skills.
