Software Development EngineerLocation: Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE1 3PJ), with flexibilitySalary: £33k per annumContract: Full Time, PermanentWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer, who has a solid history of delivering enterprise solutions to join Viewpoint in Newcastle, UK. This position is within Viewpoints UK software development team, as part of a multinationalAgile-process group that is providing software solutions in a .NET / SQL Server / C# target environment.The Newcastle based team provides software solutions to the construction industry on a worldwide basis that include document management and collaboration, project management, building information modelling & management and mobile field operations.Software Development Engineer - Responsibilities: Work with system architect and development and QA teams to perform product design, implementation, defect verification and remedy on application software projects for Viewpoints next generation platform. Liaise directly with the Product Management team to implement against product requirements, and solicit more information as required to deliver on time and with quality. Identify opportunities for improving software development methods and procedures and communicate recommendations appropriately. Design and build applications in line with Viewpoint standards and requirements. Provide timely and accurate reports on status, issues and opportunities to management. Participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality is present and knowledge is transferred.Software Development Engineer - Candidate requirements: Experience in application design and programming and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to write clear, concise code in C# using a variety of standard .NET libraries and utilizing Object Oriented techniques. Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops environment and tools. Experience implementing formal software design patterns. Experience with multi-tiered architectures. Experience utilizing unit testing.Although not essential, we would also value your possible experience with Agile Development methodologies, Test Driven Development, Enterprise Application Integration, Performance Profiling and knowledge of construction industry accounting or project managementprinciples and practices.
