Job Description

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent planning consultancy on the hire of a Senior Town Planner to their team in the North East (soon to move into new premises in Newcastle!). This is a permanent position.Our client provides pragmatic, commercially astute and clear town planning support to a wide variety of both private and public sector clients nationwide.As a Senior Town Planner, you will provide support to the wider planning team on planning applications and projects across a mix of sectors such as housing, commercial, roadside, industrial, healthcare, education, energy and minerals and waste.Working in a small but experienced and growing team of planners (inside a larger wider team of 50), you will provide the following services to your clients;

  • Community Engagement
  • Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Planning Appeals
  • Land and Site Promotion
  • Local Plan Consultation
  • Mineral Safeguarding Assessment
  • Planning Strategy formulation
  • Planning Due Diligence
  • Permitted Development Rights
  • Planning Applications
  • Planning Obligation Negotiations
  • Site Identification
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • An RTPI-accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline.
  • MRTPI status (or close to submitting)
  • Commensurate experience at Senior Town Planner level.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Solid report writing skills.
  • Understanding of the UK planning process.
