Senior PHP Developer - Newcastle - Up To £42,000If you are searching for the chance to join a renowned digital agency as they change the face of eCommerce across the UK, look no further.The Candidate are recruiting for one of the UK’s most reputable digital agencies in their search for a Senior PHP Developer to join their team. After a record-breaking year in 2020 and further growth anticipated due to an influx of new business wins, the agency is recruiting for an ambitious and talented PHP Developer. As a natural problem solver who is driven by the ability to build creative solutions to real business issues, this role is ideal for a candidate who is on the lookout for a chance to join a highly secure business which offers structured career progression.With scope to progress into a Lead Developer position, the Senior PHP Developer will take responsibility for a variety of complex solutions into the eCommerce industry. Building greenfield functionality and features into a platform which influences over 1,200 brands. As part of the Senior PHP Developer role, you will be using modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel to build an exciting new solution which will enable the rapid, scalable growth of eCommerce business in the UK. Ideally you will have exposure to modern Javascript frameworks such as Vue.js but this is not essential. Built on the ideology that creative development and the resolution of technical issue is best served in a collaborative environment, you must be passionate about building relationships with wider business stakeholders.Although the business is currently working on a fully remote basis, the vision is for the Senior Development team to return to a part office / part remote basis. Based out of the business’ Newcastle headquarters, you will be joining a modern division which offers fully flexible working, unlimited holidays and much more.Key Responsibilities of the Senior PHP Developer:

  • Contributing to the entire development lifecycle of projects from conception and development through to delivery.
  • Supporting Team Leads in their team mentoring as you progress into a Team Lead role yourself.
  • Build new functionality and features in line with project requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain up to date with methodologies and technology with the vision of integrating the newest standards into your work.
  • Contributing to technical discussions and strategies in your product team.
  • Writing clean, robust and scalable solutions which address the future growth of eCommerce businesses across the UK.
  • The Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven commercially experience with modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Lumen etc. You do not need to be an expert across multiple frameworks, but exposure and knowledge is important.
  • Experience across the LAMP stack including Linux, MySQL, PHP.
  • Confident in your ability to delve into the front end development of projects using modern JavaScript frameworks, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience using Git.
  • It’d be great if you had knowledge across eCommerce platforms (including Magento, OpenCart etc) but this is not essential.
  • eCommerce knowledge including API integrations is ideal but not essential.
