Job Description

Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants needed in Newcastle Upon TyneSupporting classrooms and child(ren) with SENDDo you have experience working with a SEND child(ren)Do you want to support the growth and learning of young students with additional needsWant flexibility to work around childcare/commitmentsIf you have answered yes, Milk Education would love to hear from you!We are currently working with a range of local SEND Schools in Newcastle Upon Tyne and are looking for passionate Teaching Assistants on a supply basis, this could be either day to day or long term, depending on schools needs. The successful applicantswill be working in various schools based on their travel abilities.Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs
  • Work within other schools across Prosper Learning Trust
  • Safeguarding and putting the students wellbeing first
  • Assisting the Teacher with displaying students work
  • Recording student progress
  • Work within a small cover team
  • Ensuring that Safeguarding and the welfare of the students are kept to a high standard.
  • Supporting SENDco to ensure that the childrens needs are met and their targets are realistically set and followed depending on their learning ability
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working with children within a SEND, PMLD school or environment over the last 2 years
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update System (or willing to apply)
  • Completed Cache qualifications or any other relevant training working with children from the ages of 3 to 19 is preferable but not essential
