Job Title: Quality Control Inspector - Fabrication/WeldingLocation: Newcastle upon TyneSalary:Dayshift £17.84 - £18.25 per hourNightshift rates span £23.73 - £24.27 per hourDay overtime is 1.5*Basic day rateNight overtime is 1.84*Basic day rateJob Type:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Day shift Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 16.00 & Friday 07.30 - 12.30
  • Night shift Monday - Wednesday 19:00 - 05:30 & Thursday 19:00 - 02:30
  • Full time, Permanent
  • Overtime available

About the Role:Responsive Engineering Ltd is growing; we are looking for a number of Quality Inspectors to join our highly talented and skilled team and to be part of our exciting growth journey. We have been awarded major new defence contracts spanning a number of yearslocated in the historical tank factory based on Scotswood road.At Responsive Engineering Ltd, the safety and wellbeing of our employees remain our priority, and our values are at the heart of everything we do.Working as part of the inspection team you will be trusted partner responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products in the fabrication and welding area fully conform to customer requirements, whilst maintaining the companys focus on safety, quality,cost and delivery.You will be driven to go above and beyond in your role. You will feel empoweredto achieve.Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection of products in the fabrication and welding area to ensure the correct quality
  • Calibration and validate monitoring and measuring equipment prior to use
  • Liaise with engineering team to clarify inspection and testing requirements
  • Liaise with goods inward for the inspection of raw materials, components and associated certification
  • Support the production team with in-process inspection and testing of components for manufacture
  • Maintain product traceability and compliance to required standards
  • Quarantine and identify non-conforming parts to ensure all product non-conformances are accurately reported
  • Support problem-solving activities and investigations where product or process non-conformance has been identified
  • Contribute to quality led improvement initiatives and support overall quality performance
Experience/Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment in a Quality control role
  • Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Competent with manual inspection processes using equipment such as tapes, rules, and squares
  • Ability to write clear and concise inspection reports and work with both metric and imperial units as required
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
  • CSWIP 3.0 certified (CSWIP 3.1 desirable)
  • PCN Level 2 MPI
  • PCN Level 2 Dye Pen (desirable)
  • PCN Level UT (desirable)
