A Project Engineer with a good engineering background, preferably in the Marine sector is sought by a growing company in the Newcastle areaAs a Project Engineer you will work with the engineering and operation teams and act as the technical lead throughout the project life cycle from contract award through to the system trials and acceptance. You will enhance the engineering solution by ensuringall deliverables satisfy the project technical specification and result in a coherent system that can be installed, operated and maintained with ease.With being the main technical point of contact for the client, internally and with suppliers, you will be responsible for technical support and queries as and when required. There will be occasional travel within the UK and abroad to oversee commissioningactivities You will be the driving force to ensure completion of the machinery risk assessment, functional design specification and specifications for outsourced components, create and publish Commissioning/Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and client installationdocuments and lead technical discussions with key suppliers including inspections / visits / black build programmes / FAT of sub assemblies as requiredOther responsibilities include Establishing and updating the system recommended spares listSupporting commissioning and FAT phase ensuring procedures are followed and system data recordedCollation and subsequent approval of the project Technical Construction File including Design Directives and Standards, CofC and Manufacturing Record Book indexKEY SKILLSWe are looking for someone with project engineering experience who is educated to a degree level in one of the following engineering disciplines:* Mechanical * Electrical * Hydraulic* MarineAn overall basic knowledge of all these disciplines would be desirable but not essential. You will need to be a strong team player who is client focused with excellent levels of communication, both verbal and written.
