Job Description

Power Electronics Design EngineerOur client is an electronics manufacturer that is leading the charge to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Based in the North East and with a truly global reach, their products are used in smart grid applications, EV charging, waste energy recoveryand distributed electricity generation. Their technology can also be found in the rail, aerospace and HVAC industries. As they develop products that are at the forefront of power electronics technology, they are seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineerwho will work across cutting edge design.As Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop and test hardware and software with the support of the Principal Project Engineer and Project Manager
  • Develop, analyse and validate power electronic design solutions
  • Use prototyping, simulation and validation testing
  • Generate functional, component, manufacturing, test and validation specifications and documentation
  • Ensure robust, reliable designs that meet budgetary and time targets
  • Support CAD modelling and PCB development
  • Liaise with Production
  • Support installation and commissioning
  • Prepare materials for design reviews
As Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will need to be:
  • Qualified to degree level, equivalent or above in Electronic Engineering
  • Experienced in the design and test of power electronic convertors (AC: AC, DC: DC, DC: AC) or Motor Drives
  • Experienced in the use of simulation tools such as PLECS or Matlab/Simulink
  • Experienced in power electronics design
