This is an exciting opportunity in an excellent business in their in-house Pensions Administration Centre (PAC) based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the effective overall management and day to day administration of theCompanys pension arrangements consisting of both final salary (now closed to new entrants and future accrual) and money purchase sections. The ideal candidate will be currently working within the pensions arena, be proactive, possess strong communicationskills and have the capability to work on their own and as part of a team. The ability to show initiative and fit in with the dynamics of the department will be important.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Reporting to the Pensions Manager and working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be tasked to:-* Undertake administrative duties (experience of Microsoft Office software, in particular word and excel is essential) such as letter writing and updating spreadsheets;* Updating member records within Profund (pensions database);* Calculating member benefits;* Liaising with third party administrators Fidelity;* Utilising Fidelitys administration platform PlanViewer* Dealing with general correspondence;* Dealing with member queries on the telephone helpline;* Dealing with bulk annual mailings and exercises;* Sort, scan and view documents within PaperVision (document imaging software);* Ad-hoc project based tasks;* To undertake any other duties relevant to the post that may be required from time to time.Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies:-InterpersonalThe successful candidate will need to exhibit the behaviours required to fulfil the PAC Promise and help support our Vision, Attitudes and Beliefs, including:* Excellent written, verbal and numerical skills. Ability to communicate often complex technical issues in clear and concise terms to non-pensions people;* Excellent telephone manner;* Good team player with proactive, flexible approach to work and a problem solving attitude;* Excellent organisation and multitasking skills with the ability to work under pressure;* Achieving consistently high standards of productivity, accuracy and presentation of work. Attention to detail and finishing are essential.Technical* GCSE Maths and English - Grades A to C or equivalent are essential;* Two good A-levels or equivalent;* Experience of pension scheme administration is essential.IT* Good Microsoft Office skills (word, excel and outlook).Remuneration/Benefits Package:-* Annual salary from £20,000 to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience.* Annual Discretionary Bonus - up to 10% based on performance and achievement of targets.* Membership of The Pension Plan - Workplace Savings Section. Employee and Employer contributions are 5% employee and 3% employer. Life assurance of x1 salary is provided.* Private Medical Insurance.* Hours of work will be 38 hours per week, fixed from approximately 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and to 4.00pm on Fridays, with 45 minutes for lunch.* 25 days holiday, with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 additional days a year.* Full training and support will be provided.
