Job Description

Role: Senior Oracle DBAContracting Authority: HMRCContract Length: 6 MonthsLocation: Hybrid - Newcastle (1/2 days a week on site)IR35: InsidePay Rate: £550 per dayClearance: Active SC ClearanceMinimum requirement:

  • Active SC clearance
  • Expertise in Oracle database management, performance tuning and optimization
  • Expertise in provisioning Oracle databases on Linux platforms including database upgrade, regular patching and maintenance
  • Expertise in the following Oracle technology stack:
  • Database 12c and 19c
  • Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Grid Infrastructure 12c and 19c
  • Data Guard in ASYNC and SYNC modes
  • GoldenGate replication
  • Excellent Linux and shell scripting skills
  • Excellent understanding of Agile deliveries, collaborative tooling and techniques including Jira and Kanban
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices, continuous delivery tooling and automation using Ansible, TerraForm and Git
  • Good understanding of designing and implementing databases in Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure using IaaS or PaaS
  • Oracle Certified Professional
  • There is a requirement to be included in a 24x7 on-call rota (1 in 4 and TOIL is given back, not payment)
