Role: Network Engineer IV Location: working from home, based near NewcastleSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 dependant on experienceAdditional requirements: SC clearance - advantage if already held but must be eligible to obtainLooking for an experienced Network Engineer who is familiar with working in a fast-paced, result driven role to support one of well-established clients based in Newcastle.As a Network Engineer you will be virtual first, mainly working from home, Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 with the flexibility to be able to travel to 2 sites in Newcastle if / when required.Due to the nature of our clients work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.As a Network Engineer you will:* Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks* Install and configure networking hardware* Create and implement network security measures* Mentor junior Network Engineering staff* Conduct regular network performance tests* Delegate networking maintenance tasks to junior staff* Deal with escalated network support issues* Draw up network status reports* Deliver network engineering projects and handle advanced support issues* Monitor and diagnose performance issuesAs a Network Engineer you will have experience / skills in:* Must have current Cisco LAN / WAN - CCNA level experience is required* Proven experience working as a Network Engineer - this is a high-level role where experience is key* Extensive experience in Firewalls, LAN/WAN in Cisco, and Aruba comms equipment* Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, and IOS* Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and configuring routers* Logical thinker when gathering information and incident troubleshooting* Ability to take ownership of assigned work* Able to effective prioritisation workload* Experience with designing and implementing business solutions using common network equipment* Experience in designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams* Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environmentIf you have the skill required, apply now "In applying for this position, you consent to your personal data being shared with the specified employer and for your details to remain with GTS for as long as is necessary to process your application.
