Job Description

Velocity are urgently recruiting for an experienced freight forwarder.You will be part of small hardworking, pleasent team based in Newcastle.Your responsibilities will be:

  • Processes shipments Air /ocean/ Road
  • Completing all relevant Import / Export paperwork, entering console data.
  • Completing HM Customs paperwork depending on mode of transport.
  • Completing HAWB’s, MAWB’s and IATA forms.
  • Dealing with customer queries.
  • Arranging collections and deliveries of freight with haulage companies.
  • Providing Air /Road / Ocean quotations to customer.
  • Negotiating ad hoc rates with suppliers.
  • Invoicing shipments and keying off of supplier’s invoices.
  • May have responsibility for ensuring sufficient stationery is available for departmental needs Eq, airwaybills and ocean bills .
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Supervisor
    • It is essential that you are experienced in air freight and be familiar with airfreight and ocean freight procedures and have experience of consolidations, HAWBs/MAWBs and IATA shipment procedures as well ascustoms procedures and Inward & Outward Processing Reliefs.Ideally you will have training in dangerous goods and possess a knowledge of letters of credit. Competency in MS office is vital as well as skills in ASM / Chief system,NCTS.If you fit this criteria this is a great opportunity for you to work with a great team.
